Part 5: Resources Needed

Wishing that you had something, or were able to do something does not make it happen. If you want something different from what you already have, then you have to change. You have to do things differently.

Merging RoadsRemember, “the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”

You may already have skills in other areas of life that you can apply here.

  1. Have you ever done this before? If you have, then what were the components of behaviour that you used?
  2. Do you personally know anyone who has done this? What do they do differently from what you do?
  3. Have you read about, or seen anyone doing this? How do they manage to do it?
If you imagine yourself in their position doing it, what do you see, feel, hear and tell yourself?
  4. What skills and resources do you already have for doing this?
  5. What skills and resources do you need to develop doing this?
  6. Who do you know could help you develop these?

Now we need to set about a plan of action

  1. What beliefs would a person have, who was already able to do this?
  2. What physiology do you have to have?
  3. What does your level of fitness have to be?
  4. How do you have to stand? Sit? Walk? Move?
  5. What are the mental strategies you will use?
  6. How will you think when you doing this?

Having listed all that is necessary to achieve your outcome

  1. What plan of action do you need to develop all the skills you need?
  2. When will you begin putting this into action?
  3. How committed are you to getting this outcome?
  4. Are you willing to do whatever it takes to get there?
